Innocent Heroes Foundation

Heroes they say are made and not born. They are made on the gritty streets, with no roofs over their heads and no fortunes to depend on – They are made from this inimitable inner strength, sometimes far beyond the capability of an average privileged person, to simply survive. It is time we recognized these innocent heroes and gave them the wings to fly to a better tomorrow. For our innocent heroes – their basic struggle to survive is no less than an ordeal and they fight a battle everyday – They fight with their environment, their circumstances and their fate. And more often than not they do it all alone…The fact that they accept their fate innocently and choose to remain unknown and unheard of makes them an ‘unprivileged’ child when in truth they are ‘everyday heroes’ – and they are ‘innocent heroes’ because like you and me they too have a million dreams that may never get realized- but they move on anchoring their lives on those dreams never the less.

Innocent Heroes Foundation is the brainchild of Sheetal Kharka .It has been registered under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 (No. 1 of 1956) in the form of a Non Profit Organization (NPO). However, it is just not a NPO per se—it is much beyond. It is an innovative social venture that looks forward to addressing more than just the basic needs of underprivileged children. IHF has been envisioned to provide an opportunity to underprivileged children wherein they can explore their hidden talents, hone their skills and be equipped to face the challenges of the world.

IHF believes that the need of an underprivileged child is more than food, clothing, shelter, basic education and health care—it is holistic development. We feel that an underprivileged child must not be denied exposure to sports, music, dance, adventure and various other extra-curricular activities that any other normal child is usually pampered with. We strongly believe that every child has equal right to such activities, and in order to prove the point, we has been working relentlessly ever since. To put it in a nutshell, we want to ensure that every underprivileged child gets the exposure and the opportunity they truly deserve.

IHF works closely with various NGOs and Child-related institutions that provide basic needs of shelter, nutrition and education.  We take the basic curriculum a step ahead by providing focused developmental program by organizing promotional activities providing a platform of opportunities to bring out talents and creativity in children, and subsequently provide them with superior alternate career options in sports, art, culture, music, adventure, dance, vocational training, photography, acting, singing and many more. We also organize sponsorship for children who are exceptional in their studies to further their education.
